Thanks so much for all the great advice you distilled from these podcasts, and I look forward to hearing about that MS which you submitted a long time ago to that writing instructor and talking about writing and books in general! :) PS Sorry to hear about your F.I.L. :(
It wasn’t all that long ago, actually! Just a year ago. The assignment was literally to write a first draft and send it to the instructor without revising it. So I did that. A rough rough rough draft of an essay about a boat. Her reaction made me realize that my first drafts are worse than other writers’ first drafts. Which I had kind of suspected? But it was funny, and valuable, to have it confirmed. Now I know why I’m a slow writer. I start from way behind the starting line.
Christopher Johnston, not Johnson 😉
That’s how you know I didn’t use AI to write it! Thank you for the correction - I just fixed it :)
grateful for this
Yay! Thank you!

Lovely round-up of rock solid writing advice! Looking forward to season 2.
Thank you! And thank you for all of the great writing advice. You’ll notice I found the most gems when I mined your interview!
You asked the right questions of someone who has been a writing coach for decades.
This is wonderful. Thank you! (From another Minnesota writer.)
Thank you!
